UBC Thunderbird Robotics

For those of you who might not know, Snowbots are leaving early tomorrow morning to compete in the RobotRacing competition at Windsor. We're attending the competition with two robots this year: Blizzard and Oscar Jr.

In case you're interested in seeing what we are up to in windsor, you can follow our blog posts. We will be updating it frequently with lots of photos and pictures. Hopefully a very exciting competition is upon us with the faster robots that we have this year.

Thunderbird Robotics is pleased to welcome the UBC Electric Car Club as a new team working together with our other project teams. We see the electrification of the North American transportation system as an important step towards creating a sustainable society that minimizes its use of non-renewable energy resources and the release of toxic emissions to the atmosphere.

The UBC Thunderbird Robotics Team was started in 2004 by students, faculty, staff, and members of the community at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, with the goal of researching and building autonomous vehicles and robots. The team is working on several projects, including a robotic soccer team, a fleet of autonomous remote-controlled cars, and a lunar excavator.
